There has been a lot of attention lately on intellectual property, specifically the theft of original work of creatives and then the thief repurposing said work as their own, sometimes to even make a profit. It is completely brazen and entirely wrong.

I get it, it's hard to have an original idea. Some would even argue that these days it's impossible to have a truly originally idea. I think an important aspect when creating is to know what your intention is. This will fuel your purpose, which can be very inspiring, in and of itself. What's more, by doing this you're giving your work substance. Who doesn't love that?

So the next time you come across a piece of work that you love so much that you contemplate stealing it, stop and think about what it is that you love so much about it. How does this make you feel? Why does it make you feel like that? Really analyze it. Then use this information to inform and inspire the next thing you create. Watch how it infuses your work with substance. Just whatever you do, don't steal. It's a really uncool thing to do. ✌️
